I definitely won't be staying at a Marriott anytime soon because it has ties to LDS. I also try to go skiing once or twice a year -- usually in Alta. Might have to reconsider. To be fair though, the ski resorts in Utah usually cater to a more progressive crowd and don't deserve to be punished with the bigots that inhabit the rest of the state. But this won't stand. Two lawsuits have already been filed, and I'm sure it'll be overturned --- just like Prop. 22 before it. The California Supreme court already ruled that sexual orientation is covered by the Equal Protection clause of the state constitution and domestic partnerships aren't an adequate substitute for marriage. A simple majority on a ballot initiative can't undo that. The constitution is supposed to protect minorities from this sort of thing. I'm sure that it would be overturned on constitutional grounds if it was challenged, because CA doesn't allow major changes to its constitution with only a simple majority.
