On October 31 former Jet Set Exclusive and amateur hitman Nickolay Petrov — real name Edmond Vardanyan — plead guilty to one count of conspiracy and two counts of aiding and abetting a murder-for-hire plot. The gay-for-pay porn star accepted $2,000 from the son-in-law of an elderly Florida couple. Vardanyan made several botched attempts on the lives of his intended victims. During one attack he beat the elderly couple with a hammer.
Petrov has appeared in just over a dozen adult videos, and he’s modeled for several gay porn sites — including Randy Blue. His final porn performance for the Cocky Boys web site was released two months after his arrest.
On the other side of the business, a yearlong legal battle ended with the conviction of straight porn star (and recent Playgirl model) Jack Venice. Real name Christopher Jack Reid. Reid was convicted of “second-degree rape, first-degree burglary and two counts of residential burglary” and could spend the rest of his life in prison. The conviction stems from an incident in September 2007 at Washington State University where Reid and Kyle M. Schott, a former WSU student, broke into several sorority houses and — according to testimony — sexually assaulted a sleeping co-ed during a night of drunken partying.
Schott, who plead guilty to third-degree rape and second-degree burglary charges, testified against Reid as a part of a plea bargain. According to Schott, Reid fondled and spooned the co-ed while she slept. The sexual assault did not involve sexual intercourse.
Reid has said he was too drunk to remember what happened but maintains his innocence. DNA evidence taken from the victim’s rape kit did not match Reid. According to his lawyer, Reid was scapegoated because of his work in the porn industry.
