Abercrombie & Fitch — Born Again
By Richard Armagnac • Apr 25th, 2008 • Comment • Category: Sexual Politics
In spite of the best efforts from the radical right, Abercrombie & Fitch is all set to relaunch its softcore A&F Quarterly in the UK. The unambiguously gay catalog folded in 2002 after a bunch of assholes ultra-conservative, “Christian” activists threatened the company with obscenity charges. But the rebirth of the “adults only” quarterly, which some have labeled “catalog porn,” comes with a pretty stiff price. It’ll cost £100 — which translates to $200. Bruce Weber, the esteemed fashion photographer who mainstreamed erotic male photography with his racy Calvin Klein ads, returns to the catalog.
Coincidentally (or not) three flamey college guys — all wearing matching Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts — appeared behind Barack Obama during his Pennsylvania primary concession speech.
